Prairie Art AllianceClass
Prairie Art Alliance offers art classes for both children and adults throughout the year. Children's classes are small in size to allow individual attention and instruction. All supplies and materials are provided for children. We even supply the paint shirts! Workshops offer a variety of media and interest levels.

Scholarships are available thru the Pat Anderson Memorial Fund

The Prairie Art Alliance offers a variety of young adult and adult workshops throughout the year. Early enrollment is encouraged.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Carin Hebenstreit

Oil Portrait
9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (One Hour Lunch Break)

Cost: $240.00 Nonmember
$200.00 Member (Juried or Associate)

Each morning there will be a portrait demonstration in a simple step by step method. Students will paint in the afternoon. Carin will be teaching students how to see, observe and to paint lights and darks, hard and soft edges and how to make things come forward and back.

Richard McKinley has been a professional artist for 38 years and has over 35 years of teaching experience. He is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and Northwest Pastel Society; Signature Distinquished Pastelist with the Pastel Society of the West Coast and a member of the
Oil Painters of America.
This workshop will cover the basics of sound representational painting. There will be daily demonstrations, critiques, and personal
attention at individual easels.

Outreach Programs
Through grant funding provided by Target, the Illinois Arts Council,the Springfield Area Arts Council, and the Sangamon County Community Foundation the Prairie Art Alliance partners with local organizations and community schools to provide free art classes and projects to underserved children. The Prairie Art Alliance classes provide a hands-on opportunity for self-expression and to help build self-esteem by creating art in a safe setting with positive adult role models.
