CARIN HEBENSTREIT - OIL & ACRYLIC PORTRAITURE
October 10 and 11, 2009
Carin reaches portraiture and life drawing at the Cincinnati Art Academy. Her technique, influenced by the Renaissance masters and honed through years of study abroad, incorporates glazing layers of paint over her underpainting to produce luminosity and richness of color. Ms. Hebenstreit brings her subjects to life through the flow, movement and design of the painting. She is truly one of the most evocative portrait artists of our time. The cost is $200 for Prairie Art Alliance members and $240 for nonmembers. Visit her website www.carinhebenstreit.com for examples of her work.
2010 UPCOMING WORKSHOPS
BOB ROHN - May 17-21 (Oil and Pastel Painting Workshop)
KRISTY KUTCH - August 30 - September 1 (Colored Pencil Workshop)
Outreach Programs
Through grant funding provided by Target, the Illinois Arts Council, and the Springfield Area Arts Council, the Prairie Art Alliance partners with local organizations and community schools to provide free art classes and projects to underserved children. The Prairie Art Alliance classes provide a hands-on opportunity for self-expression and to help build self-esteem by creating art in a safe setting with positive adult role models.
